Completed in a quick eight months, our home + studio is a model for affordable sustainability.

30 feet and three stories high, but a mere 17 feet wide, every inch of the 2,000sf is used efficiently to provide ample room for studio and living spaces. The top floor is a loft-like living/eating/cooking space that opens up to sunlight, ocean breezes, and views from the back deck of sunsets on the Santa Monica Mountains.

The main floor provides spacious living and entertaining spaces inside and out; the master suite and lookout are located on the upper levels, giving expansive views and a place to retreat. The lower level is a three-bedroom guest suite with living spaces, kitchenette, two bathrooms and its own ground floor entry.

As many materials as possible were chosen for their sustainable, ecologically sound and non-toxic qualities. These include zero VOC paints and finishes, low flow fixtures, flash water heating, radiant heat floors, wheat board paneling, cork flooring, and photo-voltaic solar panels.
