Salish Scenes 2023 Calendar; Available Now

Here from the pages of Tideland Magazine’s illustrated series, Salish Scenes, are the sketches that capture the spirit of the beautiful Salish Sea, redesigned into a desktop calendar. Designed by Salish Scenes creator Mary Jo Davis, the calendar is small enough to fit on any desk or shelf, and its solid wood stand is crafted from salvaged madrone wood on Bainbridge. They’re printed on the island, too, making them a truly local holiday gift. Davis hand paints each watercolor image, inspired by the amazing things she sees—from orcas to octopus—when exploring our waters and islands.

Find the calendars at:
The museum store at Bainbridge Island Museum of Art,
Fire Dragon Acupuncture,
or Alexander & Nye Home in Pleasant Beach Village.
Available online on BIMA’s online store. or at maryjodavis.com/store.

She’s looking forward to creating more paintings for the upcoming year. To see more of her illustrations and other artwork, visit her personal site: maryjodavis.com.

Talking the Walk

Thanks to @Tidelandmag and @becrah for writing a great article about our design of The Walk. We’re proud that the community aspect of the project really works and that it helped the residents (our fellow islanders) get through these last couple trying years. And congrats to Tideland on this beautiful premiere issue!!

Thanks to everyone for all the great feedback on our Dwell magazine article. One pleasant surprise to come of it was lots of interest in the alphabet poster featured on page 36. This was designed by Mary Jo Davis for our own home, but you all got us thinking that it should be made available for purchase. davis studio A+D launches new website

Welcome to our new site! It had been a long time since we had done major website update and our old site was way out of date; a bit like the cobbler’s children not having any shoes. But we have the homepage and our new blog up and running so we at least we can give you updates on current projects and show off in fullscreen glory the excellent work of our photographers, Anthony Rich and David Cohen. Now we are busy organizing further content – more images of built projects and work in progress, sketches from upcoming projects, of course more beauty shots of interior and exterior completed projects. We will have detailed information about our Grow Community project and pieceHomes, our line of modular homes. You can also learn about pieceHomes and our design team on our other site: pieceHomes.com.
